The Admissions Abstract

We are dedicated to using research and analysis to provide the best information about college admissions and standardized testing to students, parents, and counselors.

Whether it is in information sessions, on our newsletter, or working one-on-one with students, we believe the best way to approach the college application process is with the full knowledge of the ins and outs of applying to college.

About Us

The Admissions Abstract was founded by William H. Floyd. Will began his career in education as an Admissions Counselor at his alma mater, Sarah Lawrence College. He has been an admissions officer, application reader, curriculum developer, test prep tutor, and private college counselor. Will is based in Southern California, but has helped students across the country. He has tutored SAT, ACT, and AP Exams, and guided students applying to college using the Common Application, Coalition Application, UC Application, CSU Application, and many other portals.

Will worked at The Princeton Review for seven-and-a-half years, conducting outreach to high school counselors and messaging to students and parents about the admissions process. Helping students find the schools they love and get accepted is one of his favorite things. He has led information sessions at hundreds of high schools across the country, as well as led national online events for thousands of students and parents. Will is endlessly fascinated by college admissions, testing, and education, and he loves to share his knowledge with anyone going through the application process.
